Common Ideal VOGUE problems

Variants covered: s32, s26, s18, s15, c26, c32, c40, C26 GEN2, C32 GEN2, C40 GEN2, S15 GEN2, S18 GEN2, S26 GEN2, S32 GEN2, C26IE GEN2, C32IE GEN2, C40IE GEN2, S15IE GEN2, S18IE GEN2, S26IE GEN2, S32IE GEN2

No hot water on demand

Hot taps run cold while heating still works — commonly the diverter valve, the flow sensor or the plate heat exchanger scaling up.

Losing pressure

The gauge drops below ~1 bar and the boiler cuts out — usually a small leak, a tired expansion vessel or a weeping pressure-relief valve.

Ignition lockout

It tries to light, fails and locks out — often the spark electrode, gas valve or a flame-sensing fault.

Leaking water

Drips or staining under the case — a seal, the pump, the heat exchanger or a corroded pipe.

Noises — banging or kettling

Rumbling on the heat exchanger, usually limescale or sludge restricting flow.

Poor circulation / cold radiators

Cool rads or slow warm-up — often the pump, a sticking motorised valve or air in the system.

These are the likely causes — a Gas Safe registered engineer confirms the fault on site before any work. If you can smell gas, stop and ring 0800 111 999.
